Jeff Zwart has participated in rallies globally and is a regular contender at the Pikes Peak hill climb, achieving numerous class victories. This year, Zwart and co-driver Alex Gelsomino had excellent company, as over half of the approximately 60 vehicles that started the rally were 911s. This included the winner, piloted by British endurance racer Harry Hunt, with Steve McPhee as co-driver. Zwart and Gelsomino secured 17th place. Their vehicle—an early 1970s F-Series 911 specially modified for the rally—endured “an unbelievable beating” to finish, according to Zwart. It suffered suspension damage on the third day, and a transmission problem on the second to last day required Zwart to drive nearly 25 miles in first gear.
