A plane with Greg Biffle and his family crashed while approaching Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina today. Multiple reports are now confirming that Biffle, his wife, son, and daughter, as well as the flight crew, did not survive.
Garrett Mitchell of 1320Video confirmed via a Facebook post that Biffle and his family were aboard the plane, expressing condolences for the friends and family of the victims.
“Sadly, I can confirm that Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were on that flight… as they were heading to spend the afternoon with us,” Mitchell stated. “We are heartbroken. I’m deeply sorry to relay this news.”
North Carolina Representative Richard Hudson also verified their demise on X:
“I am heartbroken by the loss of Greg, Cristina, and their children, and my thoughts are with all who cherished them,” Hudson said. “They were friends committed to helping others. Greg was an exceptional NASCAR champion who delighted millions of fans. Yet he was also an extraordinary person who will be remembered for his contributions to others as much as his bravery on the track.”
Biffle triumphed in both the Craftsman Truck Series and the Busch Series (2000 and 2002, respectively) throughout his NASCAR career, racing in the Cup series from 2002 until 2022, and partaking in several other series during his career that began in the mid-1990s.
