Lamborghini Revuelto SV Unveils 1,050 HP and Unique Fun Mode Capabilities

Lamborghini’s SV designation, representing Super Veloce or “super fast” in Italian, has now entered its electric phase. Step into the future.

On Friday, leading up to Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach, the Lamborghini Revuelto SV was unveiled featuring increased power, heightened electric energy, innovative aerodynamics, and a new GT3-inspired driving mode. Indeed, there’s a wing, and no, you likely can’t acquire one, as only 1,963 units are slated for production—a homage to the year Lamborghini was established—and it’s probable you didn’t place an order in time.

The Revuelto takes the crown in Lamborghini’s current lineup with a plug-in hybrid V12 power system. The SV version enhances the “base” powertrain by boosting both power and energy. The total system output rises by 50 horsepower to a combined 1,050 hp, and system torque increases by 18 lb-ft to an impressive 1,051 lb-ft. However, the power boost doesn’t stem from the gasoline-powered 6.5-liter V12 engine; it comes from the plug-in hybrid powertrain’s enhanced voltage battery, effectively doubling its capacity by adding 3.8 kWh for a total of 7.3 kWh. Notably, the battery hasn’t grown in physical size; it’s simply become more energy dense. This additional energy elevates the electric motor’s output by 190 kW, enabling four laps of electricity around Hockenheimring.

This power surplus trims 0.1 seconds off the standard Revuelto’s 0-60 mph time, with the SV accomplishing the sprint in just 2.4 seconds. Lamborghini claims that the Revuelto SV’s maximum speed exceeds 214 mph, though a precise figure has not been revealed.

Yet, the “super fast” Lamborghini isn’t meant to be solely about the numbers, despite its four-figure horsepower output. SV models focus on handling and dynamic enhancements that elevate the driving experience. Therefore, Lamborghini has introduced what it refers to as “racing-inspired” adjustable passive dampers, next-gen carbon ceramic brakes, all complemented by model-specific Bridgestone Potenza Race R tires. These modifications yield a 23% improvement in heat dissipation, a 12% reduction in brake disc temperatures, an increase of 10% in lateral grip solely from the dampers, and a total of 13% more grip with a 5% enhancement in traction at full throttle compared to the standard Revuelto.

Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated, “With the Revuelto SV, we’re further advancing the already high-performance and razor-sharp Revuelto, providing drivers with an even more exhilarating driving experience. The Revuelto SV epitomizes exclusivity, technical finesse, and pure driving joy. This positions it as a genuine driving machine and the essence of our Lamborghini DNA.”

However, it’s the new Pilota driving mode that drivers should particularly focus on. Lamborghini explains it was engineered for “true fun to drive” qualities. Pilota will recalibrate the ABS, traction control, and stability control systems to offer decreased braking distances, improved corner braking, enhanced balance and sharpness, along with better performance across curbs and jumps. The Pilota mode can be engaged via a new dedicated rotary knob on the steering wheel and activates a five-level traction control system inspired by Lamborghini’s GT3 race car.

Similar to other modern SV models, the Revuelto SV sharpens the standard vehicle’s styling. The wedge-shaped design features extended angles and creases, sharper contours, edged in red paint, and topped with a fixed rear wing. The staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels include an optional center lock design.

Within, lightweight carbon fiber door panels and racing seats replace standard components. Sport seats with carbon shells will be the standard, while monocoque carbon fiber racing seats will be available as part of an extensive list of options.

Lamborghini has yet to disclose pricing, but if you’re inquiring, or don’t already have an order placed, you likely won’t be getting one.
