Jeep Unveils 'Jean Blue' Interior Selection for Wrangler and Gladiator Models

I’ve been urging Jeep to revive Levi’s denim interiors for ages, and I know I’m not the only one. The brand enjoys tapping into nostalgia as it is. It may never come to fruition—I get that—but Jeep has just moved significantly closer than I honestly anticipated with the new Wrangler and Gladiator Rockslide models. The texture isn’t entirely the same, but both 4×4 models feature blue fabric seats and corresponding material on the dashboard with some impressive stitching.

To be honest, this interior might be more comfortable for people who aren’t accustomed to the roughness of a Canadian tuxedo. The color is reminiscent of a quite deep wash, somewhat like my favorite pair of church jeans. It’s even referred to as Jean Blue, while the gauge surround is Indigo Blue.

Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf made a brief mention of the interior in his press release quote, which is pretty standard otherwise. “… [B]lue continues to be a color that embodies our heritage, individuality, and the strong emotional connection our community shares with their off-road vehicles.”

Justify it however you wish, sir. Please keep making them.

The Rockslide models are based on Jeep’s Sahara and Rubicon trims, so they feature standard perks like heated mirrors, automatic LED headlights, and Gorilla Glass windshields. They also come with a number of other enhancements worth noting: Anvil exterior paint brings the entire look together with Blue Agave side stripes and a classic “4 Wheel Drive” graphic. At the same time, the hardtop is color-matched, as is the grille surround.

The best part is you don’t have to shell out much more for a Wrangler or Gladiator Rockslide. They only cost $695 more than a similarly outfitted model with a body-color hardtop. And if you’re interested in a Gladiator Mojave, you can also get the desert-themed pickup with the Rockslide upgrade.

If I were to buy one, I’d find someone to stitch on a little red Levi’s tag ASAP.
