Dodge is eager to generate enthusiasm for the new Charger, despite a challenging launch.
On Tuesday, Dodge teased what appears to be the comeback of the legendary Super Bee nameplate, with a reveal set for Friday, August 7, 2026. This coincides with the automaker’s 2026 Road Kill Night activities, which will span an entire weekend filled with burnouts, drag racing, and more.
The 15-second teaser video showcases multiple bees on a drag strip light tree, the buzzing sound of bees, and ends with a catchy tune stating, “you know what it is, black and yellow, black and yellow.”
The next chapter of Dodge muscle. Arriving 8.7.26.
The teaser video above leaves little doubt about what Dodge plans to unveil on August 7.
Dodge explained that the teaser video is for the most powerful Charger equipped with a six-pack engine. This is a marketing term referring to a Charger featuring a more potent turbocharged inline-six Hurricane engine. The existing Charger Scat Pack, equipped with the high-output Hurricane turbo-six, delivers 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.
Dodge has openly confirmed that a more robust Hurricane-powered Charger is under development. In March, Dodge CEO Matt McLear informed The Drive, “We’re going to keep pushing the boundaries of this engine [the Hurricane I6] and explore its capabilities.”
The Super Bee isn’t the first Bee nameplate to make a return under Stellantis this year. In May, the 2027 Ram SRT Rumble Bee was unveiled, boasting a 777-horsepower Hellcat-sourced supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine.
The forthcoming Charger Super Bee will definitely feature six cylinders instead of a Hemi V8, although a Hemi is in the pipeline for the Charger. Later in May, Stellantis revealed a significant revival strategy that includes 60 new models and 50 updates by 2030. Among these vehicles is a new Charger SRT set to sport a massive rear wing reminiscent of the Superbird era, and it’s a safe bet that a Hellcat-sourced Hemi will be under its hood.
Currently, the Charger lacks a Hemi and this will remain true next week, but the Super Bee will reemerge for a new chapter.
