What this pickup lacks is the TRD Pro’s hybrid powertrain or IsoDynamic air shock seats designed for high-speed desert driving. Instead, it features standard TRD seats with yellow stitching—a thoughtful detail, as it complements the rest of the vehicle. Even the TRD logo is rendered in yellow.
Since this Tacoma is a gas-only variant, its 2.4-liter turbo-four produces 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with an eight-speed automatic rather than the six-speed manual, which is a bit disappointing. But that’s to be expected. At least it boasts noteworthy four-wheeling features like a disconnecting sway bar, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select due to the TRD Off-Road package.
Naturally, the cost isn’t cheap. The original window sticker lists an MSRP of $45,994, and dealer add-ons total $21,894. In total, you’re looking at $67,888. (Do you think that number is coincidental? No way.)
