Easter Jeep Safari has been taking place for 60 years, showcasing some of the most amazing factory concepts revealed at the Moab come-and-crawl event. The 2015 Jeep Chief springs to my mind, alongside the Quicksand hot rod from 2017. Each year, the brand aims to impress with its latest collection of custom creations. The standout offerings from Jeep for 2026 include an XJ Cherokee homage and a redesigned, 392 V8-powered Wrangler. Will this suffice to meet the lofty expectations?

Jeep Wrangler Anvil 715 Concept
Among the builds at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari, this one stands out as the most extreme. It features a 392 Hemi V8 engine, generating around 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The onboard air system with quick-disconnect fittings allows you to adapt effortlessly to any terrain you encounter, while steel bumpers both front and rear provide security in challenging climbs or descents.
Jeep claims that the revamped front end draws inspiration from the 1960s SJ—I personally appreciate it. A staggering amount of auxiliary lighting ensures it remains a contemporary rig, complemented by a large screen displaying Trails Offroad mapping within. It’s fascinating to see Jeep replace the factory infotainment display of the Wrangler with this setup, but there’s no denying it enhances navigational readability.
Curiously, the top isn’t removable. It feels almost sacrilegious, yet many vintage Jeeps (like the SJ) featured a fixed roof.
Jeep Wrangler Buzzcut Concept
On the opposite end is the Buzzcut concept, a striking two-door design flaunting its Vitamin C orange hue. Jeep shortened the roofline by two inches and equipped it with 37-inch tires for enhanced clearance. The fastback styling caught me off guard initially, but the more I scrutinize it, the more it appeals to me.
The steel front bumper features a Warn winch and 7-inch TYRI lights, supported by 5-inch A-pillar pods and three 12-inch LED bars above. Additionally, a snorkel, tailgate reinforcements for the oversized spare tire, and an smoothly integrated handle on the C-pillar enable easy access to the roof storage. Unbeknownst to many until it deploys is the AMP Research power bumper step at the rear.
The contrasting orange and black theme continues in the interior. Along with accent stitching on the Katzkin seats, orange seatbelts are a nice touch! Jeep has also removed the rear seats in favor of a Diabolical Slipstream security enclosure equipped with locking drawers and MOLLE panels.
Purists may wince upon discovering the presence of a 2.0-liter turbo-four under the hood, and I completely understand. However, it still delivers more torque than the Pentastar V6.
Jeep Grand Wagoneer Commander Concept
If any of these concepts were to enter production instantly, it would undoubtedly be the Grand Wagoneer Commander. Jeep outfitted it with 35-inch Nitto Recon Grapplers mounted on 20-inch Raceline wheels. Some underbody protection has also been added for safety, giving it the feel of an off-road upgrade package rather than an extravagant reworking. Remarkably, the interior remains untouched.
A small detail that might go unnoticed in images is the vinyl side graphics. Instead of the classic Grand Wagoneer woodgrain, Jeep applied a topographical design spanning from the front to the rear fenders. It’s a clever homage to the past that incorporates a bit of modern overlanding style.
Jeep Wrangler Laredo Concept
“Laredo” is a familiar term in Jeep culture, and in Spanish, it’s the informal word for a sandy, rocky area. (If that’s incorrect, don’t blame me—I used Google Translate.) Regardless, the automaker honors the American Southwest with this concept, showcasing a retro white-and-tan two-tone paint job and an amazing interior reminiscent of a saddle blanket.
The roof features a manual Sky Slider design that feels much more authentic than a simple push-button. Analog themes are prominent in this build, which also features a six-speed manual transmission paired with a 3.6-liter V6. It’s all delightfully vintage, equipped with 17-inch slotted mag wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich KM3 37s.
Half-doors truly enhance its charm, too.
Jeep XJ Pioneer Concept
Last but not least, the jewel of the collection: A 1984 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Adhering to the timeless principle of “Keep It Simple, Stupid,” the Jeep team made minimal alterations to perfection. It retains its classic XJ appearance, albeit with subtle enhancements that require a discerning eye to notice.
First, there’s the two-inch suspension lift complemented by 33-inch BF Goodrich tires. What you might overlook is that those wheels are custom 17s, designed to mimic the original ones. Jeep also modified the wheel arches for improved clearance—a nice detail—with carbon flares. Even more discreet are the incorporated rock rails that shield the doors from damage on trails.
For improved articulation, there’s a quick-disconnect sway bar underneath, yet Jeep didn’t go overboard with the hardware. In fact, the EJS team retained this XJ’s original 2.8-liter V6. While not a powerhouse, the 4.10 gearing ensures it performs adequately.
