Chocolate Cherry Smoothie every morning, yes please! Loaded with protein and incredibly smooth and silky.
You Appear More Joyful!
Thanks, it’s my daily ritual of enjoying one of these chocolate cherry smoothies for breakfast! 😍
I’m currently on a solid week-long streak with these smoothies. I’ve been going to bed literally dreaming about them. I’ve been promoting this on Instagram all week, so here I am, at last, to share the accurate recipe for this wonderfully silky, smooth, rich chocolate-cherry delight.
This original concept came from Laura at The First Mess – I’ve wanted to recreate this since she shared it, and WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!
The method I use has just a few fewer ingredients:
- vanilla soy milk
- cherries
- banana, spinach
- almond butter
- collagen + cocoa powder
I love this every SINGLE MORNING at the moment. And while I don’t usually focus on protein content, it’s notable that this silky little treat delivers a robust 26 grams of protein in the morning. I know many of us seek to enhance our protein intake deliciously.
Enjoy it!

Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in your blender; blend until smooth. I utilize this Beast Mini Blender.
- Pour into a cup and savor! It’s silky, rich, and AMAZING.
Notes
I tried it with chocolate protein powder, but I discovered I preferred the flavor with unflavored collagen and cacao powder instead (as noted in the recipe). The chocolate protein often contains sweeteners like stevia that give it a protein-powder-esque and odd taste. For me, it was far better to simply add the cacao powder on its own.
For a complete protein with all necessary amino acids, consider using whey protein powder. Again, this is personal preference; I prefer unflavored and then add the cacao powder. Pea protein is an excellent vegan alternative.
Regular unsweetened soy milk or any other type of dairy or non-dairy milk will work here! I genuinely enjoy the taste with that Silk vanilla soy milk. (Honestly, I drink it plain occasionally – I’m that fond of it.)

**Title: The Tasty Pair: Creating the Ideal Chocolate and Cherry Smoothie**
In the world of smoothies, where fruits and flavors meld effortlessly to form delightful mixtures, the fusion of chocolate and cherries remains a timeless favorite. This duo not only excites the palate but also provides numerous nutritional advantages. Let’s delve into the realm of chocolate and cherry smoothies, uncovering their health benefits, preparation suggestions, and variations to accommodate every taste.
**The Nutritional Powerhouse**
Cherries, especially the dark sweet types, are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. They are recognized for their anti-inflammatory effects, which can aid in diminishing muscle soreness and enhancing sleep quality due to their natural melatonin content. Cherries also offer a valuable supply of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber, contributing to overall wellness.
Conversely, chocolate, particularly dark chocolate, is praised for its cardiovascular benefits. It contains flavonoids, which are antioxidants that can bolster heart health by reducing blood pressure and enhancing circulation. When blended into a smoothie, chocolate lends a decadent flavor that beautifully balances the tartness of cherries.
**Crafting the Ideal Smoothie**
Making a chocolate and cherry smoothie is an uncomplicated yet gratifying endeavor. Here’s a straightforward recipe to get you started:
**Ingredients:**
– 1 cup of fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
– 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder or a small piece of dark chocolate
– 1 banana (for natural sweetness and creaminess)
– 1 cup of almond milk or any milk of your choosing
– 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
– A handful of ice cubes (optional, for a thicker consistency)
**Instructions:**
1. Mix all ingredients in a blender.
2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
3. Taste and modify sweetness if needed.
4. Pour into a glass and relish immediately.
**Variations and Add-Ons**
To accommodate various dietary preferences and nutritional requirements, consider these variations and enhancements:
– **Protein Enhancement:** Include a scoop of chocolate or vanilla protein powder to make the smoothie more satisfying and apt for post-exercise recovery.
– **Nutty Flavor:** Add a tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter for enhanced creaminess and a nutty twist.
– **Vegan Option:** Utilize plant-based milk and sweeteners to maintain a vegan-friendly recipe.
– **Superfood Boost:** Mix in a teaspoon of chia seeds or flaxseeds for additional fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
**Conclusion**
The chocolate and cherry smoothie is not just a delightful indulgence; it’s a combination of flavors and nutrients that can promote a wholesome lifestyle. Whether you’re after a quick breakfast solution, a post-exercise refreshment, or a guilt-free dessert, this smoothie provides both versatility and satisfaction. Experiment with various ingredients and discover your perfect blend, savoring each sip of this delightful pairing.
