Pressed for time? Want to find a way to enhance your nutrient intake throughout the day? These nutritious smoothie recipes are the ideal answer!
What Ingredients Are Included in Nutritious Smoothie Recipes?
Smoothies are an excellent method for creating a meal that’s rich in nutrients! They are brimming with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. However, it’s important to note that not every smoothie is equal.
The sugar content can easily soar to 50 grams in a single smoothie. This sugar may originate from whole foods like fruits or added sugars. Consequently, it can cause blood sugar spikes, leaving many of us feeling less than optimal overall, whether leading to energy crashes or leaving you hungry shortly after consumption.
Nutritious smoothie recipes include protein, starchy carbohydrates, non-starchy carbohydrates (such as greens), and healthy fats. To achieve this, you can utilize what I refer to as the Foundational Five.
A Foundational Five Nourish Meal encompasses any meal that has all five components of the Foundational Five formula. This includes non-starchy carbohydrates, starchy and sugary carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and the Flavor Factor. If you aren’t acquainted with my Foundational Five system yet, feel free to download my free guide where I elaborate on it!
By adhering to this straightforward template, food remains adaptable, enjoyable, and nurturing. Our Foundational Five Nourish Meals can manifest as smoothies or smoothie bowls, yogurts, oatmeal or breakfast bowls, nourish bowls, salads, soups, stews, and much more.
All of the nutritious smoothie recipes listed below contain these elements to ensure each one is filled with the nutrients necessary for you to feel your best!
