Pressed for time? Want to find a way to add more nutrients into your day? These nutritious smoothie recipes are the ideal answer!
What Ingredients Are in Healthy Smoothie Recipes?
Smoothies are an excellent method to achieve a nutrient-rich meal! They’re filled with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. However, not every smoothie is beneficial.
It’s quite simple for the sugar content to rise to 50 grams in a single smoothie. This sugar may originate from whole foods such as fruits or from added sugars. Consequently, a spike in blood sugar can occur, leaving many of us feeling less than optimal overall. This can lead to energy crashes or a sudden return of hunger shortly after consumption.
Nutritious smoothie recipes include protein, starchy carbohydrates, non-starchy carbohydrates (like leafy greens), and healthy fats. To achieve this, you utilize what I refer to as the Foundational Five.
A Foundational Five Nourish Meal is one that includes all five components from the Foundational Five formula. This encompasses non-starchy carbohydrates, starchy and sugary carbohydrates, fat, protein, and the Flavor Factor. If you’re not yet acquainted with my Foundational Five system, you can download my complimentary guide that explains more about it!
By adhering to this straightforward template, food remains adaptable, enjoyable, and enriching. Our Foundational Five Nourish Meals can appear as smoothies or smoothie bowls, yogurt, oatmeal dishes or breakfast bowls, nourish bowls, salads, soups, stews, and much more.
Each of the healthy smoothie recipes listed below contains these components to ensure that every one is loaded with the nutrients essential for you to feel your finest!

I’m not certain why this timeless blend of bananas and strawberries works so well, but these two flavors complement each other beautifully.
The impressive antioxidant content is what makes this smoothie particularly nutritious! It’s filled with phytonutrients such as anthocyanins, tannins, flavonols, resveratrol, ellagic acid, and catechins solely from the strawberries.
Warming Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
Warming spices can range from fresh ginger and ground cinnamon to black pepper, cayenne, garlic, and horseradish. This combines the best of both worlds for a quick and nourishing breakfast to take with you as you head out!
